Three generations, one address, no plans to leave
Invented exampleMy grandfather bought this kothi in 1954 from the family that built it in 1926. We opened five rooms to guests in 2019, mostly because the house is too big for us now and too good to sell.
Nothing has been turned into a hotel. The lime plaster is original and slightly uneven. The fans are old and quiet. Breakfast is whatever Ram Naresh has decided to make, and he has been cooking in this kitchen since 1995.
What you get is a real house in a real neighbourhood, a fifteen-minute walk from Hazratganj, with someone at home who can tell you where to eat.
