The workshop
Eleven karigars, one lane in ChowkInvented example
Every piece here is stitched by hand in our own workshop off Akbari Gate. No job-work sent out, no machine-run copies mixed into the rack.
Chikankari is thirty-two different stitches. Most shops use four. Our senior karigars work in murri, phanda, jaali and bakhiya on the same panel, which is why a kurta takes eleven days and costs what it costs.
We tell you which karigar made your piece. Ask, and we will send you their name and a photograph of the panel before it was cut.
What we will not do
- Call machine embroidery “hand work”. If a piece is machine-run we label it and price it lower.
- Quote a price only in DMs. Everything on this page has its price on it.
- Take a full advance from a first-time customer. Half now, half on delivery.
- Sell a size we do not have. If it is out, the button is greyed out, not hidden.
